Using digital and film mediums I am documenting natural hairstyles-- from the intimate process of creating the hairstyles to the final product and maintenance of the style. As part of the larger project, the images are accompanied by interviews with some of the subjects who share their daily/monthly hair "rituals" and what their crowns mean to them.
